Listening vs hearing~

Oh what a great day to be enjoyed with! Malaysia's summer + listening to dis song repeatedly ....listening okay..not hearing. So what's the big deal of dat??? Well...not a big deal actually, saja suka2 hati to highlight those words..hahak. Okay2..actually, during my favourite class last friday, we did discuss 'bout these two things in class. My lecturer even gave us a quiz on 'what is the differences between listening and hearing?' and I was kinda excited to answer it eventhough I wasn't really sure what is or are the differences would be. So I juz hentam la,as long as the quiz is answered...=))

But few things that my lecturer told us 'bout the differences are :

Listening :: is something you consciously choose to do. Listening requires concentration so that your brain processes meaning from words and sentences. Listening leads to learning.We have to understand the deep meaning of the message conveyed, we interpret the hidden meaning of the message, we take it as a thing that leave something in our heart as well as our mind.Most people tend to be hard of listening. And there is a research on marriage failure where it is because of both husband and wife do not listen to each other.

While...

Hearing :: is simply the act of perceiving sound by the ear. If you are not hearing-impaired, hearing simply happens.Hmm..hearing also occured when someone is talking to you..n you buat don't know...;))
